Five flavors · None of them mint

Death to
Mint.

Mint is a candy flavor that hijacked your bathroom in 1896. We built a real fluoride toothpaste out of hops, citrus peel and toasted malt instead. No beer. No alcohol. No apologies.

Shipping & refunds

Orders leave Portland, Oregon within 1–2 business days. Free shipping in the US over $35, $4.50 under that, $9 flat to Canada. Figure 3–6 days in transit once it's moving.

You have 30 days from delivery. Email us and we refund the whole order — opened tubes included, and we don't want them back. Give them to someone who drinks that style.

How the bundle price works

One tube is $12. Three or more drops to $10.80 each. Six or more drops to $9.83 each — that's the $59 carrier. It applies to your whole cart automatically, so there's no code to hunt for and no reason to place two orders.

Mix and match freely. A carrier of six different flavors costs exactly the same as six of the same one.

Why hops, actually

Hops were built
for a mouth.

This started as a flavor joke and ended in a stack of dental papers. Hops are a bittering, preserving, antibacterial flower. Brewers have leaned on them for a thousand years for most of the same reasons a toothpaste would want them.

  • 01The hops are real. Food-grade hop extract and citrus oils — the same inputs a brewery uses to dry hop a batch, not a lab’s guess at what “beer” tastes like.
  • 02The beer is not. Nothing is fermented and there’s no ethanol anywhere in it. Safe if you’re sober, pregnant, or twelve hours from a breathalyzer.
  • 03It isn’t sweet. Bitterness is dialed way down from actual beer and sugar is left out completely. Xylitol does the sweetening, which is the one sweetener dentists actively recommend.
  • 04The boring part stays boring. 1,450 ppm sodium fluoride, RDA 70, SLS-free, made in Oregon in a facility whose other toothpaste is already in your cabinet.

The hop cone, itemized

Humulus lupulus · what's in there and why it's a strange fit for a toothpaste

Alpha acidsHumulone, cohumulone. The bittering compounds. Long documented as antibacterial against gram-positive bacteria — the family Streptococcus mutans, the cavity organism, belongs to.
Beta acidsLupulone, colupulone. Studied for the same activity, and considerably more antibacterial than they are bitter on the tongue. Handy, given where this is going.
Bract polyphenolsThe genuinely interesting one. Research has looked at how they interfere with the way S. mutans sticks to enamel and builds plaque in the first place.
XanthohumolA prenylflavonoid that barely exists outside this plant. Anti-inflammatory in lab settings — and gums are inflammatory tissue, which is why anyone bothered to look.
Essential oilsMyrcene, humulene, linalool. Pine, citrus, herb, resin. Every bit of the aroma and none of the sugar. This is the part you’ll actually notice at 7am.
TanninsAstringency. The reason a dry-hopped beer and a properly brushed mouth feel like distant cousins.
What we're not claiming: hops don’t replace fluoride, and none of the above is a treatment claim. The 1,450 ppm sodium fluoride is what prevents cavities — that’s settled, boring science and we didn’t touch it. The hops are why you’ll stand there for the full two minutes instead of forty seconds.
Five taps, no mint

The draft list

Every flavor is a real fluoride paste — the difference is what your mouth tastes on the way in. Zing is our scale for how loud the hop hits.

I have brushed my teeth angry for 34 years

Now I brush them interested. That is the entire review. I have nothing else to add and I resent that I feel this strongly about toothpaste.

My dentist asked what I was using

I said Imperial IPA. There was a pause I will be thinking about for the rest of my life. She then asked where to buy it.

The Sour woke up my entire household. My partner has physically hidden the tube. Two stars — not for the product, for what it did to my marriage.

Nine months sober and this is my one taproom thing

I was nervous it would be a trigger. It isn’t. There’s no booze note at all, just hop aroma. It smells like a brewery on a Saturday and then I go to work.

Foams normal. Rinses normal. Tastes insane. Exactly the product I was promised and I have no complaints, only questions about myself.

Bought it as a joke gift for my brother-in-law

He has now bought it twice with his own money. The joke is dead. I am simply a person who knows about toothpaste.

I like mint

I’ve now said that out loud to three people who didn’t ask. It works, my teeth are clean, everyone else seems thrilled. I just like mint. Three stars, no notes, leave me alone.

Kölsch morning, Brown Ale night

I have flavor-paired my own mouth to the time of day and I genuinely do not know how to feel about the person I’ve become.

My four-year-old asked why the toothpaste has a beer on it

I did not have an answer prepared. Please consider a plain outer box. Product is excellent, parenting moment was not.

Have not thought about mint in eleven weeks

Didn’t realize how much I’d been tolerating it. It’s like finding out you can just turn the ceiling light off.

Genuinely believed this would be a novelty I’d use twice and photograph once. Tube is empty. I’m ordering a carrier. Please stop making things I like.

Six tubes arrived and my roommate immediately claimed the IPA

We now have a written chore chart that is specifically about toothpaste ownership. Five stars. Send help.

Brown Ale is fantastic and the Sour is a personal attack. Averaging out to three, which feels unfair to Brown Ale, so read this as one five and one one.

Tastes like walking into a brewery

Minus the guy at the bar explaining his home setup. Somehow they got the good half of the experience and left the rest.

The two-minute thing finally happened

Thirty-six years of bailing at forty seconds. Turns out I didn’t have a discipline problem, I had a flavor problem.

Fair questions

Does it actually taste like beer?+

It tastes like the good half of beer — hops, citrus peel, pine, toasted malt. What’s missing is the bitter, wet-grain, alcoholic half, because that half is terrible in a toothpaste. Think of it as the smell that hits you walking into a taproom, not the pint.

Is there any alcohol in it?+

Zero. Nothing is fermented, and there’s no ethanol in the formula — not even the denatured kind that shows up in a lot of mouthwash. It’s safe if you’re sober, pregnant, or subject to a random breathalyzer.

Will my dentist be annoyed?+

Shouldn’t be. It’s 1,450 ppm sodium fluoride at RDA 70, which is standard adult strength and on the gentle end for abrasion. The only unusual thing is the flavor. If you’ve been prescribed a high-fluoride paste, stay on that one.

Can kids use it?+

It’s built for adults. Standard adult fluoride level, and we’d rather not sell a children’s toothpaste that’s themed around beer. Keep it on your shelf, not theirs.

How long does one tube last?+

About ten weeks brushing twice a day, if you use the amount your dentist keeps telling you to use instead of the amount from the commercials. A carrier of six is roughly a year.

What if I hate it?+

Email us within 30 days of delivery and we refund the entire order, opened tubes included. Don’t ship anything back — give the tubes to someone who drinks that style.

Do you ship outside the US?+

Canada, at $9 flat. Everywhere else has fluoride labeling rules we haven’t cleared yet. Leave your email and we’ll tell you the day that changes.

Go on then
